Simulation methodology is becoming increasingly popular among computer network researchers worldwide in time of COVID pandemic. For selecting an appropriate network simulator for a particular application, it is important to have knowledge of the simulator tools available, along with their advantages and disadvantages. The basic ways of their installation are explained. A proposal for good practice in online simulators for conducting laboratory exercises on computer networks has been made.
